Katenna Jones is the Education Programs Coordinator for the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. She also consults with local animal welfare agencies and pet owners through Best Behavior, is founder and Director of Friends of Fido Rhode Island, is an Animal Emergency Responder for Red Star and author of Fetching the Perfect Dog Trainer – Getting the Best for You and Your Dog.
Previously, Katenna worked for four years as the Humane Educator and Animal Behaviorist for American Humane Association and for four years as a Cruelty Investigator and Animal Behaviorist for the Rhode Island SPCA. She has nearly a decade of experience in all aspects of animal sheltering, and has served as Chairperson of State Vicious Dog Hearings and participation in animal related legislation.
Katenna earned her Master’s Degree from Brown University in Experimental Psychology, where she studied animal behavior, learning, and cognition. she is an Associate Certified Applied Animal Behaviorist, a Certified Animal Behavior Consultant, and Certified Pet Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed.
Katenna lives in Cumberland, Rhode Island with her husband, 2 adopted cats, and adopted pit bull.
